CASE STUDY
From Reactive to Strategic: Reclaiming Time, Vision, and Revenue Growth
Industry: Not-for-Profit
Engagement: 12-Month Executive Coaching
The Challenge
The Executive Director of a nonprofit agency was managing competing demands, and her time wasn’t reflecting the organization’s most pressing priorities. She needed to communicate more effectively to execute the agency’s vision, and to move more actively on strategic partnerships and investments that would build revenue while continuing to serve clients well.
The Approach
The engagement began with a targeted diagnostic: a leadership dashboard, confidential verbal 360 feedback, and a Hogan assessment. Together, these clarified organizational priorities and pinpointed the leadership shifts that would have the greatest impact, shaping a customized 12-month coaching program.
Coaching focused on strategic prioritization, delegation, communication, decision-making, and leadership-team alignment. It also gave the Executive Director a safe space to work through the stress and change management challenges that came with introducing new ways of operating, and to build the listening and processing skills that let her respond more deliberately instead of jumping straight to action.
The Impact
- Sharper strategic focus, with time more deliberately aligned to the agency’s most pressing priorities and a more holistic budget planning process now in place.
- Increased agency revenue, driven by stronger strategic partnerships, clearer vision-sharing, and a more focused approach to investment.
- Stronger staff engagement and alignment, through clearer communication of the agency’s vision and improved coaching and support for her team.
- Greater confidence leading her Board and making clear, strategic decisions.
